One year while visiting the Orchid Show at NYBG around 2005 I was sketching some Lady Slipper Orchids in my journal with charcoal in a Planter on the floor. I heard clicking noise around me overhead. When I looked up I saw 6-7 people with cameras and a couple of phones taking pictures of me. I found it amusing that they had twentieth century equipment and they were photographing someone using 15th century charcoal and paper. When I went home I did a rough sketch of this put it in a drawer and when I found it years later I painted the scene.
